Due to the Chinese New Year, our lecturer only covered a brief overview of
the material in the first week of the module. We also discussed the concept
of cultural sensitivity in design and how design systems illuminate
people
The instructor advised us to conduct research before choosing a
topic, after presenting it, and while creating the artwork. When determining the purpose of a project, research plays a crucial role
in integrating design theory and practice.
In week 2, We were split up into several groups, such as those that went on
field trips to Japan and same semester. Following that, we split up into
groups. To create a group of six, each group can consist of no more than two
members from the same category. This categorization scheme seems to me to be
quite It's enjoyable since we may have a variety of viewpoints and views on
the project by getting to know other buddy groups.
We discussed the matter extensively in our team since we were thinking about
the project's viability as we went along. During the talk of the first
meeting. Everybody gave their view. The first is: Why are the women's
restrooms on the right and the men's on the left? Body language varies
depending on one's culture. The third is that language has an effect on how
you see colour. The fourth is how many cultures are misapplied or appropriated
in K-pop. The topic of the sixth one is how various cultures see tattoos.
After generating three proposal concepts, we decided to delegate the task of
selecting the subjects we would cover to our professors.
After generating three proposal concepts, we opted to delegate the
selection of themes to our professors. "Tattoo culture in Western society VS
Eastern society" , "Cultural appropriation of black music in K-POP" as well
as "Stealing fashion from different cultures" .
We adjusted the lyrics in the original song ‘MONEY’ by Lisa to exclude
misuse of AAVE. Our storyboard illustrates a storyline of our reactions
to cultural appropriation instances as well as shots related to the
song.
